Seller's description

Jean Prouvé was known for his functional designs, often made from industrial materials such as steel. He was a pioneer in the use of industrial manufacturing methods in furniture and architecture, and his work influenced many subsequent designers. The Standard Chair, which he designed in 1934, was produced in several different versions. During World War II and the associated metal shortages, he developed the "Chaise Tout Bois," a version of the chair made entirely of wood. In 1950, Vitra launched the Standard SP (Siège en Plastique), a modern version of the chair with a plastic seat and backrest. The Standard Chair has adapted to changing conditions over the years and remains one of Prouvé's most successful designs to this day.
The famous Plywood Group armchair LCM (Lounge Chair Metal) was created from the first plywood series by Charles and Ray Eames, which the American designer couple designed in 1946 after many years of experimentation. Its slim, organic-looking seat and back shells made of three-dimensionally shaped plywood were designed to adapt to the shape of the body as best as possible, and the slightly flexible backrest ensures a high level of seating comfort. The Plywood Group series was the first for which the Eames combined upper parts with different base frames. The models offered are in good condition with signs of wear. The price is per piece.
Marcel Breuer designed the cantilever chair with its characteristic, traditional Viennese wickerwork on the seat and backrest, which contrasts with the modern-looking tubular steel, in 1928 for the German manufacturer Thonet. The company still produces it today under the name S32. At the same time, the Swiss company Embru specialized in the manufacture of chrome-plated tubular steel furniture. In the 1930s, Embru received a license from Thonet to produce Breuer's products for the Swiss market. The chair on offer comes from one of these Embru productions. It is in good vintage condition with age-related signs of wear and four missing struts on the backrest. The seat wickerwork of the chair has been renewed.

Starting in 1927, the French architect and furniture designer Charlotte Perriand, together with Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret, designed a series of furniture that represents classic modern furniture design like no other. Initially produced under license by various manufacturers, the rights to the designs of the LC series have belonged to the Italian furniture manufacturer Cassina since 1965. These include some of the unmistakable LC2 sofa, whose loose cushions offer excellent comfort. This LC2 two-seater sofa in cream-colored leather and chrome-plated tubular steel is in very good condition.

The Thonet 1404 table, designed by the German industrial designer Stefan Diez, combines traditional craftsmanship with modern, minimalist design. The table, which is completely black and has a wooden tabletop and legs, exudes a simple and timeless aesthetic. The 1404 table is versatile, whether as a dining table in a private living room, as a meeting table in an office or as a stylish piece of furniture in public areas. It adapts flexibly to different furnishing styles and harmonizes with different chair models. The model on offer is in good condition.
The world-famous designer couple Charles and Ray Eames designed the Lobby Chair in 1960 for the lobby of the Time-Life Building in New York. The chair shell consists of three individual upholstered parts that are connected by aluminum side parts, thus ensuring a high level of seating comfort. The Lobby Chair is available in three different versions; this is the ES 105 model, the slightly wider and lower version, which is perfect as an armchair for lounge and waiting areas. This model made of black leather is in good condition.

It has been almost 150 years since Horgenglarus was founded in Horgen near Zurich - today it is the oldest chair and table manufacturer in Switzerland. Over the years, the durability and quality of their furniture have encouraged many well-known Swiss designers to work with the company, such as Hans Bellmann, Werner Max Moser and Max Ernst Haefeli. The latter is the designer of the book chair, also known as the "Bücherstube" model. The chair was created in 1926, when Haefeli designed the interior of the Girsberger bookstore on Kirchgasse in Zurich. Unlike other designers, Haefeli did not seek to break with tradition, but created furniture that seemed familiar. With its slightly lower seat height, the chair on offer is ideal as a reading chair. It is in good vintage condition with a beautiful patina.
The Danish designer Arne Jacobsen designed the Pot Chair in 1959 as part of the interior design of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. Manufactured by Fritz Hansen, the Pot chair is characterized by its minimalist lines and elegant, timeless shape. The Pot Chair, also known by the Danish name Gryden, is a compact lounge chair that looks great in both public areas and living spaces. The model on offer with a wine-red fabric cover is in very good condition with signs of wear on the back legs.
The Swiss family business USM is now run by the fourth generation. Precision, quality, high-quality raw materials and sustainable production processes are the company's top priorities. These high-quality roll containers made in Switzerland offer sufficient storage space under your desk in the office or home office. The roll containers are in good to very good condition. The interior fittings of the individual items vary slightly. The price is per item.
Jean Prouvé was known for his functional designs, often made from industrial materials such as steel. He was a pioneer in the application of industrial manufacturing methods in the fields of furniture and architecture and influenced many subsequent designers with his work. The office chair "Fauteuil Direction Pivotant", which he designed in 1951, is not only visually appealing, but also comfortable and functional. In 2014, the Swiss furniture manufacturer Vitra launched the limited "RAW Office Edition" collection in collaboration with the jeans brand G-Star. The swivel office chair is height-adjustable and has a backrest tilt mechanism that can be adjusted to the weight of the user. The model offered is in good used condition.
