Information on duties and taxes for international shipping

General information on customs duties and taxes for international shipping

If your order is shipped outside your country or outside a customs union (e.g. the European Union), you as the buyer are responsible for all applicable duties and taxes that may be levied by local customs authorities.

These additional costs are in addition to the purchase price and shipping costs and are charged at import. The exact amount of duties and taxes depends on the type of product, the final price and the destination country.

Because of this, we unfortunately have no way of calculating or displaying these costs before the order is completed.

Customs fees during the order process

In some cases, duties and taxes are already shown during the checkout process on 2nd-home and can be paid in advance. This option will be presented to you in the "Shipping Method" section. If these charges are not stated up front, they may be due upon arrival of the order.

Collection of customs duties upon delivery

If duties or taxes were not declared at checkout, they will be payable upon arrival of your order. The shipping company or customs authority will contact you to collect the necessary fees prior to final delivery.

This can also be done during delivery as cash on delivery/cash payment.

Important information for customs clearance

Personal information, such as a Social Security Number (SSN) or other identification number (EIN, IRN, TIN or EORI), may be required for customs clearance. The shipping company will contact you, if necessary, to clarify declaration and fees before a delivery date can be arranged.

In these cases, we are always available to help. We also provide all documentation, such as invoices.

Notice

Please note that customs delays are possible and beyond our control. Such delays may cause the delivery time to extend beyond the originally stated date. Unfortunately, customs delays do not entitle you to a refund of shipping costs.

Your responsibility as a buyer

It is important that applicable customs fees are paid on time. Failure to pay fees within the specified time period may result in additional costs such as storage fees, return shipping costs or other measures. If an item is returned due to unpaid fees, you will be charged for the return shipping costs. If you do not accept these additional costs, the item may be disposed of and no refund will be given.
