After completing his architecture studies, Verner Panton worked in Arne Jacobsen's architectural office for two years before founding his own architecture and design studio in 1955. As early as the end of the 1950s, the Dane was interested in the idea of a free-swinging chair made from just one piece of material during a furniture competition. The first draft sketches for the Panton Chair were created in 1959 - it would take eight years before Panton developed the chair with its unmistakable, expressive shape with Vitra to the point where it was ready for series production. Design history was written with it: The Panton Chair was the first all-plastic chair made from one piece. It clearly shows Panton's preference for strong colors and organic shapes. The chair, which has won design awards around the world and is exhibited in numerous collections of important museums, offers good seating comfort thanks to its body-friendly shape and slightly flexible material. There are a total of five pieces in stock in white color. These have a slight yellow cast on the seats as well as some paint chips.
