Thonet has been producing furniture for over 200 years and is one of the oldest furniture manufacturers in the world. Their famous bentwood chair is an icon and is still considered one of the most successful industrial products ever. The development of modern tubular steel furniture is also closely linked to Thonet and marks a significant milestone in design history. In the 1930s, the company was the world's largest producer of this innovative furniture, which was designed by well-known architects such as Marcel Breuer, Mart Stam, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Charlotte Pérriand. A number of in-house designs were also created, such as the shapely and elegant S 411 armchair, a design from 1932. The model not only impresses with its appearance, but is also extremely comfortable thanks to its generous upholstery and the slightly springy tubular steel construction, which enables gentle movements. The armchair offered is made of gray leather and is in very good condition.
