\nA desk that looks like a stone triumphal arch, or a tower of drawers in the shape of a column: in the 1970s, the Swiss architect duo Trix and Robert Haussmann ironically questioned the functionalist principles of modernism, not only with their architecture, but also with their furniture. But the minimalist-looking cleated chairs date back to the time before they founded their joint office "Allgemeine Entwurfsanstalt", with which they developed their famous postmodern strategies: the chairs designed by Robert Haussmann in 1963, made of solid, varnished wood and a seat made of braided cord, were first shown at Expo Lausanne in 1964, and were later produced in various variations. These examples are in good, used condition; there are occasional signs of wear on the surfaces of the wood and the seats. Price is per piece.
