"Relics" are works of art by the talented French artist Rémy Allamand.
Inspired by ancient ecological building techniques, these sculptures are made entirely from natural materials such as clay and hemp. Unlike traditional ceramics, the sculptures are not kiln fired. They are raw and naturally stabilized to minimize the environmental footprint, with no chemicals used in the process.
The sculptures are covered with several layers of a lime plaster and then polished to solidify the material and give it its final shiny appearance. Finally, a layer of vegetable wax is applied to protect the sculpture. "Relics" are strongly inspired by religious objects, churches and temples.
