Hanging lamp by Toni Zuccheri Vintage

Italy 1970s Spectacular hanging lamp by Toni Zuccheri with glass and chrome from the Space Age era. The hand-blown pendant lamp shows the Italian art of glass. The wavy sphere shows different views at different heights inside, the transparent glass is interrupted by white glass strips. This gives the lamp a special lightness and brightness. The lamp is very impressive due to its size, but not imposing. The chrome of the holder is still in good condition considering its age and use. Toni Zuccheri (1936 – 2008) was a designer and glass artist. Born in the province of Udine, he inherited his father's passion for animals when he saw him at work. His father, Luigi Zuccheri, was an animal painter. Toni studied architecture at the University of Venice under the guidance of the famous designers Carlo Scarpa, Franco Albini and Ignazio Gardella. Toni Zuccheri was interested in glass and began working for Venini at a young age, where he constantly reinvented working techniques, shapes and colors. His collection of glass birds was exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1964. In 1965 he met the architect Gio Ponti and the two worked together on stained glass windows. Over the course of 40 years, Zuccheri made small series as well as individual pieces, including lamps for Venini, VeArt, Barovier and Toso.
