Seller's description
Greg Lynn, American architect, professor and designer, designed the Ravioli armchair for Vitra in 2005. He is considered one of the pioneers of parametric design, meaning he designs buildings and objects using digital, algorithmic design tools. To achieve his goal of creating a lounge chair with as few elements as possible, he used a stiff base shell made of glass fiber reinforced polyester and a soft seat made of polyurethane foam. For the two-tone knitted cover, he used a technique that would be used years later to make sports shoes. Two different colored threads were woven with a third thread made of thermosetting adhesive so that the cover could take the shape of the upholstery foam and be glued to it at the same time. This armchair and ottoman are in good, cleaned condition with slight signs of wear.
