The heavy cast iron base ensures stability and gives the design a robust base.

About the artist:

Ugo Nespolo is a renowned Italian designer, painter and sculptor, known for his diverse work in the fields of experimental film, applied art, as well as for his creative contributions to advertising, theater and literature. His career began in the 1960s, strongly influenced by the then emerging Pop Art. Nespolo absorbed these influences primarily during his trips to the USA, which he made regularly since 1967. In the 1980s in particular, he lived and worked in the States for long periods, which gave his art a playful irony and transgression.

Despite his American influences, Nespolo remains true to the European avant-garde and places great emphasis on the processing of a variety of materials such as wood, metal, glass, ceramics and precious stones. His works are deeply rooted in everyday life and reflect a strong conceptual approach: "You cannot make art without thinking about art."

In 2016, Nespolo signed the international Art Manifesto, which supports major initiatives such as the Corporate Art Awards.
