From 1927 onwards, the French architect and furniture designer Charlotte Perriand, together with Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret, designed a series of pieces of furniture that, like few others, represent classical modern furniture design. Initially produced under license by various manufacturers, the rights to the designs in the LC series have belonged to the Italian furniture manufacturer Cassina since 1965 - including some of the LC4 lounger from 1928. With this design, the three wanted to put people at the centre of a piece of furniture and create a lounger whose form and function serve relaxation. The result is the simple, elegant chaise longue. This example has a black frame, a black fur cover and a black leather headrest . The lounger is in very good condition.
