The stackable stool 60 was designed in 1933 by the Finnish architect, urban planner and designer Alvar Aalto and initially manufactured by the Nordic manufacturer Oy Huonekalu - yes Rakennustyötehdas. Together with his wife Aino, the art patron Maire Gullichsen and the art historian Nils-Gustav Hahl, Aalto founded the company Artek in 1935, under which the stools are still produced today. His design was quickly well received - because, in contrast to other designers of his time, Aalto avoided the use of metal and instead used birch wood, which is widespread in Finland and which lower-income families could also afford. These are white stools with slight signs of wear. Price is per piece.
