This vintage alexandrite glass bowl/ashtray offers a beautiful color change from purple to blue under different lighting conditions. The handcrafted mid-20th century glasswork is an elegant piece that is both functional and decorative. Perfect for lovers of mid-century designs and vintage glassware.
Beautiful bowl / ashtray made of alexandrite / neodymium glass.
A substance has been added to the glass that absorbs the yellow light.
In daylight or normal lighting the object is lilac/pink, in cold light (e.g. fluorescent tubes and the like) the object is a shade of violet to light blue.
