Seller's description

Klaus Vogt, born in Winterthur in 1938, is a Swiss designer and architect whose work helped shape a new culture of living in the 1960s and 1970s. After an apprenticeship as a boat builder and studies at the Zurich School of Applied Arts, where he learned under Willy Guhl, Vogt began to create experimental furniture designs made of wood, steel and plastic. His best-known works include the roller shutter cabinets that he designed from 1969 onwards. Manufactured by Thut AG, these cabinets are characterized by their functional and aesthetic design. Model 107-4, colloquially known as "the pregnant woman", stands out with a belly that protrudes at the front. When the roller shutter is pushed up, a writing surface can be opened up, providing additional work space, while the rest of the cabinet remains elegant and space-saving. The model offered in black is in good to very good condition.
