Seller's description
Max Bill was a jack of all trades: he began his career with an apprenticeship as a silversmith, and later worked as an architect, product designer, typographer, sculptor, painter and also as a school director. He was the first director of the Ulm University of Design and designed the Ulm Stool for the university's students in 1955 in collaboration with Hans Gugelot and Paul Hildinger. This consists of three boards that are connected to each other on the narrow edges using finger prongs; the boards are also held together by a round wooden stick. The simple stool was designed so that it could be used as a seat, side table, shelf and even as a carrying aid for the books needed for studying. These stools from the 80s / 90s are in beautiful vintage condition with signs of wear. Price is per piece.
