Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is considered one of the most important figures in the history of architecture and design. His "less is more" approach was groundbreaking for many generations of modern architecture. As one of the leading representatives of German modernism, he was chosen to design the German pavilion at the Industrial Exhibition in Barcelona, which took place in 1929. For the interior of the pavilion, Mies van der Rohe designed the Barcelona armchair and ottoman. The furniture was intended for the Queen and King of Spain as a place to rest. This is an armchair and an ottoman from the 1960s / 1970s, which were purchased from Wohnbedarf in Basel. Both models are in very good vintage condition. The price is for the armchair and the ottoman together.
