Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is considered one of the most important figures in the history of architecture and design. His "less is more" approach was groundbreaking for many generations of modern architecture. As one of the leading representatives of German modernism, he was selected to design the German pavilion at the industrial exhibition in Barcelona, which took place in 1929. For the interior of the pavilion, Mies van der Rohe designed the Barcelona armchair and ottoman. The furniture was intended as a place for the Queen and King of Spain to rest. The Barcelona daybed is also part of the product line and, in addition to its simple elegance, offers a comfortable place for an afternoon nap, reading breaks, or relaxing moments in between. This is the Relax version, which offers particularly soft upholstery. The model offered with light Ivery natural leather is in good to very good condition.
