1st Edition, Italy 1960s This iconic "Snoopy" table lamp by Italian designer brothers Achille and Giacomo Castiglioni is a very rare 1st Edition piece from the late 60s. This lamp is made of white Carrara marble with a subtle light grey pattern. The lampshade is made of black raw painted metal, not plastic like today. On the bottom of the shade there is a thick crystal glass panel to diffuse the light. Always looking for innovation, Achille and Giacomo Castiglioni used an electronic rotary dimmer that allowed the brightness of the light to be adjusted. The Snoopy lamp was originally designed in 1967 and was famously inspired by the cartoon character of the little white dog Snoopy.
