The brothers Achille and Pier Castiglioni became known for reassembling existing products in surprising ways and, thanks to their simple, functional designs, are among the most important designers of the Italian post-war period. After the early death of his brother, Achille Castiglioni designed mostly on his own. The "Beta / Eta" shelving system was designed by Achille in 1979 and is characterized by its simple and practical design.
