Robert Mallet-Stevens (1886–1945) was a French modernist architect and designer. He believed in simple, functional designs that should be mass-produced, and these principles are well expressed in his iconic Model 222 cane chairs. The design was originally created in the early 1930s for Mallet-Stevens' kitchen at the Villa Cavrois, but continued to be produced for decades after its conception.

The chairs offered here are an Italian vintage production from the 1980s, manufactured by Pallucco Italia.
