Seller's description
With the aim of freeing the "ugly, confusing, restless world" from the "slum of legs" on chairs and tables, Finnish architect and designer Eero Saarinen designed the Pedestal Collection within five years. Consisting of chairs, armchairs, tables and side tables, these revolutionary designed pieces of furniture were characterized by a single, circular base and the appearance as if they were made from a single piece. The collection was launched in 1958 under license from Knoll International. This Tulip table with a sturdy leg made of cast aluminum and a circular top with a white lacquered wood veneer is in very good condition.
