The year 1972 was not only characterized by flared trousers and flower power, disco music and Andy Warhol - it also saw the creation of what is probably the most iconic sofa in Switzerland: the DS 600, also affectionately known as the Tatzelwurm. With its unusual and innovative design, the DS 600 went around the world and became a prop in various James Bond films.
In the 1970s, Alfred Hablützel was an advertising consultant at de Sede; he suggested looking for designers who would go against the established order. The idea was quickly implemented; the design team consisting of Eleonore Peduzzi-Riva, Ueli Berger, Klaus Vogt and Heinz Ulrich were commissioned to design a new type of sofa. The only condition: the new creation had to be suitable for series production. This gave rise to the idea of a modular model consisting of individual elements that could be linked together to form versatile arrangements using an intelligent zipper.

\nThe cult sofa is still produced by de Sede; this is a vintage version from the 1970s in dark brown natural leather. The sofa consists of 15 elements, including side parts. The Tatzelwurm is, apart from a repair on the left side and a heavily used element, in good vintage condition with signs of wear and a very beautiful patina.
