Italy, 1970s. Round Italian wall mirror with a very nice frame made of thick rattan. Stylistically reminiscent of the designer Paul Frankl, an Austrian-American architect and designer who was known for his rattan furniture in the 70s. The frame of the heavy mirror is made of six layers of rattan that widen outwards and also get higher. This type of rattan is very hard to find. Rattan furniture has been very popular in recent years. You can see it very often in trendy home magazines. Most of the time rattan was limited to the outdoor area, but today the trend can be seen indoors as well. The natural material gives structure and fullness to rooms and suits many styles.
