Germany, 1970s. Iconic Relaxer II rocking chair designed by Verner Panton for German manufacturer Rosenthal in 1970. This unique rocking chair is made of a black wooden frame. The original upholstery is striped and features light blue shades. On the sides, the seat cushion has a green stitching. Overall, the colors are pastel, which creates a nice contrast with the frame. The special ergonomic shape of this rocking chair allows for absolutely relaxed sitting. The perfect piece for quiet and relaxing days! The Danish architect Verner Panton (1926 - 1998) was an influential furniture and interior designer. His most famous design was the Panton Chair, introduced in 1967. Panton was also known for his passion for bright colors and geometric patterns, which manifested itself in an extensive range of textile designs. Place of origin: Germany. Period: 1970 – 1979. Date of manufacture: approx. 1970. Please note that the rocking chair has a visible seam on the underside of the seat.
