The famous Plywood Group chair DCM (Dining Chair Metal) was developed from the first plywood series by Charles and Ray Eames, which the American designer couple designed in 1946 after many years of experimentation. Its slim, organic-looking seat and back shells made of three-dimensionally shaped plywood were designed to adapt to the shape of the body and, with the slightly flexible backrest, to offer a high level of seating comfort. The Plywood Group series was the first for which the Eames combined upper parts with different bases. This chair in black with a solid steel frame is in good to very good vintage condition with slight signs of wear.
